Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2’s new promotional clip shows Emily Prentiss being hilariously high. After Thomas Gibson was fired from the show, Paget Brewster stepped in to become the BAU’s new leader. Considering her history with the team, it was a rather smooth transition. Unfortunately, the case of Gold Star and Elias Voit’s continued threat in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 is proving to be more challenging than initially perceived. Aside from leading the team, Prentiss has also been dealing with the guilt of Deputy Director Bailey’s death, not to mention the return of Brian Garrity.
Prentiss finally gets to relax as seen in a new Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2, episode 6, “Message In A Bottle” promotional clip.
In the clip, JJ visits Prentiss at Penelope Garcia’s flat, only to find the BAU leader high. This results in the pair having a hilarious conversation. It’s the first time they had a one-on-one talk since the beginning of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2.
Will JJ Confront Prentiss About BAU-Gate In Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2?
JJ Has Postponed Confronting Prentiss About Her Knowledge Of BAU-Gate
In any case, while Luke was livid when he first found out about it, JJ seems more logical when approaching the matter , even though she is its biggest victim.
Aside from the overarching cases in Criminal Minds: Evolution, one smaller, but still significant storyline in the show is the so-called BAU-Gate. First brought up by Voit to Luke Alvez in season 2, episode 2, it’s apparently a site on the dark web that hosts deepfake images and content of JJ. The ruse has been up for years, and while Prentiss has known it all this time, she decided to keep it from her team, including JJ. Now, it is back to haunt the Criminal Minds: Evolution characters, although the much-anticipated confrontation has yet to happen.
With JJ and Prentiss given the chance to converse in season 2, episode 6, perhaps it’s the right time for them to finally discuss the matter. Since learning about the site, JJ has been trying to be nonchalant about it. She tried once to bring up the subject to Prentiss, but considering everything that is happening at BAU, she decided to delay what could be a very difficult conversation. As its sophomore year enters its final half, this is the perfect opportunity to get this issue out in the open.
In any case, while Luke was livid when he first found out about it, JJ seems more logical when approaching the matter, even though she is its biggest victim. Couple that with their long history of being great co-workers and personal friends, it’s unlikely that this issue will create a permanent rift between the pair. This ensures that their relationship will remain intact when the BAU returns for the now-confirmed Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3.
