Shannel Achieves Another Amusing Milestone As First Queen To Fall Off Rupaul’s Drag Race Main Stage

The season 1 icon was the first-ever queen to enter the Werk Room — and now the first to fall off the stage, as was highlighted in the “All Stars 9” premiere.

Shannel, the first-ever queen to sashay into the RuPaul’s Drag Race Werk Room, hilariously made her-story yet again on Friday’s All Stars 9 premiere.

Though it was a relatively soft tumble, the esteemed Las Vegas showgirl (and Lucile Ball memorabilia collector) became the first Drag Race contestant to accidentally fall off the Main Stage during the competition.

The moment came as the season 1 icon and her AS9 sisters prepared choreography to accompany their “Drag Queens Save the World” group Rumix performance, with Shannel following Jorgeous’ lead by practicing her steps while looking forward as her feet clicked backward.

“Oh, s—!” Shannel exclaimed as she fell backward, thankfully landing on her right foot (and potentially saving her from becoming yet another Drag Race queen whose ankle went kleek).

In a confessional, Shannel doubled over with laughter when addressing the moment. Back on the stage, Roxxxy Andrews joked that the show would “play that in slow-motion” for viewers.

Naturally, the show did just that, playing the comical happening back in super slow-mo.

“She stepped off the stage,” Shannel said through laughter, as Plastique Tiara rolled around on the stage while shouting “Medic!”

Shannel managed to stay on the stage for the final performance, but the judges deemed Angeria Paris VanMicheals and Jorgeous to be the top-two queens of the week.

Shannel might be the first queen to accidentally fly off Main Stage, but she’s far from the only queen to have left the structure altogether.

During the infamous season 11 lip-sync between six contestants (which also included All Stars 9 queen Plastique), Honey Davenport memorably jumped off the stage as she mouthed the lyrics to Jennifer Lopez’s “Waiting for Tonight.” In one of Drag Race’s most famous moments, India Ferrah and Mimi Imfurst both stepped off the confines of the Main Stage during their lip-sync, which led to Mimi picking India up and hoisting her over her shoulder — a move that ultimately forced RuPaul to issue her iconic decree that “drag is not a contact sport.”
