RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 is FINALLY starting to eliminate queens. After only cutting three queens in the first six weeks of the series, the Badonka Dunk Tank twist is finally over, and that means we’re getting real eliminations.
This week, the 11 remaining queens took on the iconic Snatch Game and the benches were crowded after those two non-elimination rounds kept the cast stacked. Overall, it was a fairly middling performance from our girls who opted to impersonate everyone from Trisha Paytas to David Lynch. Then the queens hit the fingernail-themed runway while guest judge Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson passed out critiques. What began as a fairly by-the-books episode, however, kicked into high gear when one of the show’s frontrunners landed in the bottom and after lipsyncing to “Hands to Myself” by Selena Gomez was sent packing.

Who was eliminated in the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 Episode 7?
Crystal Envy
GOOPED AND GAGGED! After landing in the top three out of five weeks and never touching the bottom, Crystal Envy was told to sashay away this week. Crystal seemed like an obvious frontrunner and potential finalist certain to go deep into the competition, but was sent packing ahead of several queens who have been floating near the bottom for weeks. The boot, reminiscent of Plasma’s last season, came after Crystal took on Nicole Richie in the Snatch Game. While the impersonation certainly wasn’t great, it didn’t seem to be much worse than those of many of the other queens. Her elimination does seem to reinforce my belief that while RuPaul will acknowledge the craft of a pageant queen, he’s usually fine sending them home.
Who won Episode 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17?
Onya Nurve
On the opposite end of the spectrum this week was one of RuPaul’s favorite queens of the season Onya Nurve. While her Eddie Murphy impersonation was certainly better than most of her competitors. It was a bit surprising to see Ru give her the win over Jewels Sparkles. This many weeks into the competition though, the favorites have been selected and the endgame is seemingly being set up for a Onya vs. Suzie Toot finale.
