Kristen is (again) the latest casualty in another one of Jax’s social media blocking campaigns, but at least she’s in good company.
The Valley’s Jax Taylor is teaching Janet Caperna a thing or two about the power of the block button.
A great divide has formed between the cast members, with Janet and Michelle Saniei Lally versus Kristen Doute. Previous dramas, including Kristen falsely claiming that Jesse Lally wanted a divorce, already had half of the cast agree that the Vanderpump Rules alum was no longer invited to any events.
In Season 1, Episode 8, everyone from The Valley, minus Kristen and her boyfriend, Luke Broderick, were invited to Janet and Jason Caperna’s outdoor Hibachi dinner. But Jax — whose up-and-down relationship with Kristen has withstood nearly two decades — and his longtime buddy Jesse took it a step further.
Are cast members from The Valley blocking Kristen on social media?
In short, Jax and Jesse said they were done having Kristen on their social media, a sentiment also shared by Janet and Michelle. Janet also explained to her friends that she decided not to invite Kristen to the Hibachi-themed event following her “blowup” at the explosive dinner fight in Episode 6.
“Anybody notice that I removed Kristen from the group chat?” Jesse asked.
Janet said she had.
“She texted me a novel, like, ‘You don’t have my back; you said we were close; you never stick up for me,'” Jax told the others.
When asked by Janet whether he blocked Kristen, Jax admitted, “I blocked her on everything.”
The party hostess and expectant mother smiled as she explained that Jax taught her “how to exercise the block button,” which she cited as “the best” button ever.
“It gave me so much peace and serenity,” Janet said.
It bears noting that the Capernas and the Lallys currently do not follow Kristen on Instagram.
Who else has Jax blocked in the past?
Of course, it’s not the first time Jax has utilized the power of the ban. As far back as The Valley’s premiere episode, Jax was called out for blocking Kristen’s beau, Luke.
“Am I still blocked, or can we be friends?” Luke asked in the episode.
The Jax’s Studio City bar owner said, “I’ll do my best to unblock you,” and it appears Jax kept his word.
But for those not that familiar with Jax and his relationships elsewhere in the Bravoverse, the ex-SURver has been candid in the past about blocking his colleagues, including his former Vanderpump Rules castmates Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, and even Kristen back in 2019.
These days, Jax is following Kristen (and Tom) on his Instagram page. But he had a lot to say about social media blocking back in 2019, a couple of years before he and Brittany Cartwright welcomed their first child.
“I go through my phases in social media, usually when it’s after a couple drinks, and then I’ll go through the blocking phase,” Jax told Us Weekly. “Andy Cohen always tells me just to mute people and say, ‘Don’t give people the satisfaction. You should just mute them.’ But no, I’d rather block them because they think they’re being cute, so I’m just going to block them. They want to say something and see what they can get away with, so I block them. As far as blocking my castmates, I’ve unblocked one of them, Kristen, and two others are still blocked, and they’re going to stay blocked.”
Jax’s gift of the block button has become somewhat synonymous with his public image, with public forums and social media accounts used solely to unite those blocked by the “number one guy in the group.”
