Even though his marriage was blasted all over the Internet last year after his near-divorce, Sylvester Stallone, 77, is known for being relatively quiet about his personal life. However, it looks like things may be changing, as the actor is reportedly working on a documentary that will delve into his rise to fame in Hollywood.

The Rocky actor partnered with filmmaker Thom Zimny to create the highly anticipated documentary. The pair apparently used footage and pictures from Sylvester’s childhood as well as old assets from his movie career to inform the doc.

The Documentary Will Explore Sylvester Stallone’s Childhood

Moreover, Sylvester also sits down for the camera in his Los Angeles home, where he apparently provides his perspective on a range of topic relating to his personal and professional lives.
“We spent a couple [of] years together and I just let my guard down,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight of what fans can expect. “I was speaking, quite frankly, like if you only have a limited amount of time on Earth, and you wanted to say things, and you didn’t really guard yourself, and just let it go.”

The Rambo alum said that he’s seen too many celebrity documentaries focusing solely on the individual’s career. But he wanted his doc to stand out by revealing how his past shaped the person he is today.

“We don’t ever escape our childhood and certain things are profound, they mark you, and they mold you in the way you perceive life,” Stallone explained. “And that’s what this is about.”

Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the documentary, titled Sly. It made its debut at the Toronto Film Festival last month and will be released via Netflix on Friday, November 3. However, it remains unclear if Sly will touch on the actor’s tumultuous relationship with his wife Jennifer Flavin. The former model filed for divorce last year amid alleged financial difficulties.

Sylvester’s Wife Almost Divorced Him In 2022 Over Money Problems

“I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone,” Jennifer said in a statement at the time. “While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters. I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward.”

In her filing, made in August 2022, Jennifer accused her estranged husband of “[engaging] in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate.”

She also asked that “the Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of these proceedings.”

At the time, reports said that divorce filings of this nature are often only made if one spouse has a history of poor financial decisions, such as excessive spending or borrowing.

Ultimately, however, Sylvester and Jennifer reconciled within a few months, calling the divorce off. The couple share three adult daughters.
