Despite their father’s wealth and fame, the dating lives of Sylvester Stallone’s daughters aren’t that exciting.
Having famous parents can give you a lot of advantages in life, from money to many work opportunities. After all, so many up-and-coming celebrities in Hollywood have followed in their parent’s footsteps and become movie stars.
However, having famous parents also has its disadvantages. Just ask Sylvester Stallone’s daughters. Over the years, the Rocky star’s children have opened up about how being the child of one of Hollywood’s biggest actors has severely impacted their dating life.
Sylvester Stallone’s Daughters Revealed Their Father Makes Dating Nearly ‘Impossible’
Sylvester Stallone shares three daughters with his wife, former model Jennifer Flavin. Ever since the Stallone Family released their own reality show, Sophia Rose, Sistine, and Scarlet Rose have opened up about what their personal lives look like, including what dating is like as the daughters of Rocky himself.
As it turns out, Stallone’s daughters haven’t had the best of luck with relationships. In fact, they’ve revealed that their father makes dating a nearly impossible feat. In an interview with Today, they were asked if having a famous father affected their dating lives. “We’re single, so…,” one of them responded.
They revealed that bringing a date home can be “very difficult” because of Stallone’s overprotective behavior. “You know, he’s quite intimidating. Most of the time, when they come over to meet the parents, they don’t necessarily return simply because he’s just so scary.”
Apparently, the movie star goes out of his way to intimidate his daughter’s dates. Examples of this include cleaning his knife collection in front of them and giving them the silent treatment. On one occasion, he peered from the balcony when a date was about to kiss his daughter Sistine. Of course, this caused her date to quickly flee the scene. “He’s so cinematic for the most unnecessary reasons. And let me tell you, this kid jumps in the car, went down the driveway, and never saw him again.” Sistine recalled.
On more than one occasion, Stallone has defended his actions, assuring that he’s just trying to look after his three daughters. He admits that he’s always distrustful of the men that his daughters date because he doesn’t “trust their intentions.”
Sylvester Stallone Isn’t Happy That His Daughters Are Dating
Over the years, Sylvester Stallone has made it very clear that he’s very protective of his three daughters. He’s even gone as far as admitting to banning his daughters from dating because he doesn’t want to see them get hurt.
”I told my three daughters they weren’t allowed to date until their mid-40s but that’s not going down well,” the Rambo star admitted. “The first time a boy called Sophia was when she was 14, I realized I wasn’t going to be an accepting father. He said, ‘Where’s Sophia?’ I said, ‘She’s in Egypt and she’ll be there forever.’ Everyone started yelling at me.”
Despite his many requests, the actor’s daughters have dated several guys over the years. This has proven to be extremely difficult for Stallone. For instance, he’s gotten into fights with their boyfriends. Recalling the first time he met one of Sophia’s boyfriends, he said, “We shook hands and I said, ‘No, you’ve got to learn to squeeze harder than that pal.’ We got into a hand-squeezing battle.’”
Even today, Stallone admits he can’t help but intimidate any guy his daughters bring home. “I thought to throw that in there because you stare at them,” he revealed in a video for Hollywood Access. “While it’s not intentional, it’s not intentional but when you have a daughter, it’s a form of temporary insanity when some guy walks in the house. You’re not yourself anymore.”
The Only Part Sylvester Stallone Enjoys of His Daughters’ Dating Lives Is Helping Them Write Breakup Texts
Over the years, Sylvester Stallone has come to terms with the fact that his daughters have love lives. While he’s not exactly thrilled to meet their new boyfriends, he tries to be a supportive father. Part of that includes helping his daughters write breakup texts.
In a recent episode of Hannah Berner and Paige DeSobro’s Giggly Squad podcast, Sistine and Sophia revealed that their father is very involved in their love lives. “My dad is a savant when it comes to our dating lives, in many areas,” Sistine explained. “In one area, he writes most of our breakup texts.”
Sophia chimed in and recommended this dating habit to other women, adding: “I highly suggest that girls should go up to their dad and have their dad write a breakup text because men know men.” Sistine also noted that when they do this, their exes are “never met mad for being honest”.
Moreover, Sistine and Sophia revealed that their father is a great judge of character, so they always ask for his input on any guy they’re dating. “He goes, ‘I can tell within the first four minutes of meeting him if he’s going to last or not, and so I’m not going to waste my time,’” Sistine explained why her father often ignores or tries to intimidate the dates she brings home. “And he’s right every time.”
