Rambo: Last Blood is getting a free streaming home. The movie, which is the final installment of Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo movie series, will start streaming for free on Tubi on Oct. 1.

Released in theaters in 2019, Rambo: Last Blood was directed by Adrian Grünberg. The film brings back Stallone for the fifth and likely last-ever time he’ll star as the iconic John Rambo character. This time, Rambo heads to Mexico in order to rescue his adopted niece from a dangerous cartel. Though time is catching up with Rambo at this point in his life, the character is no less deadly than he’s ever been, allowing the unkillable hero to go out with a bang.

The Rambo character is derived from the novel First Blood by author David Morrell. In 1982, the feature film adaptation, also called First Blood, introduced Stallone in the role. Because of the great success of the movie, a franchise was born, and Stallone would return as Rambo in 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1988’s Rambo III, and 2008’s Rambo. The films have also inspired an animated series, video games, comic books, and novels that have further explored the ultra-violent character. Calling the final film Last Blood was a way of going full circle with the story, going back to when it all began with First Blood.

A Sixth Rambo Movie Is Unlikely Following Rambo: Last Blood

Ahead of the release of Rambo: Last Blood, Stallone was open to the idea of doing another film if the movie was a big success. The film underperformed in its ticket sale numbers and critics’ reviews, and no plans have since been made to make any more films. Stallone seems to have since let go of the idea of ever playing Rambo again, hinting in 2023 that he’s now aged out of convincingly portraying the part. Curiously, however, Stallone also suggested that there was studio interest in another film, insinuating that he was the one holding up potential Rambo 6.

As Stallone said at TIFF, “Rambo, I could leave him. He’s done pretty much, even though they want to do another one, but what am I fighting? Arthritis?”

The fourth movie in the film series, Rambo, is also hitting Tubi alongside Last Blood. Some of the other action films joining Rambo and Rambo: Last Blood on Tubi in October include 12 Rounds, Smokin’ Aces, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and Wrath of Man. Outside of action, other additions to the Tubi lineup in October include the dramas American History X, The Green Mile, and House of Gucci; the horror films Christine, It Follows, and I Know What You Did Last Summer; and the comedies Bill & Ted Face the Music, Little Nicky, and The Mask.
