Season 2 of Tulsa King dives deeper into Dwight Manfredi’s struggle to build an empire while facing new threats and unresolved personal issues.
The hit crime drama series “Tulsa King,” starring Sylvester Stallone, will launch its highly anticipated second season on September 15, 2024 on the Paramount+ streaming service. The show, which is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, has attracted millions of viewers and widespread critical acclaim for its compelling storytelling and performances.
Created by Sheridan, “Tulsa King” centers around New York mafia capo Dwight Manfredi, played by Stallone. The character is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma after serving 25 years in prison. In the unfamiliar city, Dwight works to establish a new criminal operation by recruiting a group of unlikely allies. The first season concluded in January 2023 with Dwight’s business threatened and his future uncertain after a cliffhanger arrest.
The newly released season two trailer provides a first look at what’s next for Dwight. Despite aiming to leave crime behind, new enemies like rival gang leader Bill Bevilaqua, portrayed by Frank Grillo, force him back into the underworld. There, Dwight must protect what he has built while also dealing with the personal issues exposed by his arrest.
Most of the original principal cast is set to return, including Andrea Savage as agent Stacy Beale, Martin Starr as henchman Bodhi, and Jay Will as protege Tyson. Annabella Sciorra and Tatiana Zappardino have also been upped to series regular roles as Dwight’s sister and estranged daughter, respectively. Neil McDonough further bolsters the ensemble as the antagonistic businessman Cal Thresher.
While the first season concluded many plotlines, it also left unresolved questions about Dwight’s criminal future, his compromised relationship with daughter Tina, and the threats that still loom. Season two looks to expand on these story arcs while delivering more of the gritty action and character drama fans have come to expect. As the September premiere date nears, viewer anticipation continues to grow for what’s in store next for the unlikely crime boss of Tulsa, Dwight Manfredi.
