Sylvester Stallone has left his mark in superhero media with his performances as Stakar Ogord and King Shark. Under the present head of the DCU, James Gunn, the Rocky fame has been a part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 and The Suicide Squad. However, Stallone can also be cast in the new DCU as another superhero- Wildcat.

James Gunn has already announced that the voice actors would also appear in the live-action universe of the DCU. As it is not confirmed if King Shark will be a part of the new DCU, Sylvester Stallone’s capabilities can land him another prominent live-action role in the universe, Wildcat. The character has already appeared in the Arrowverse and can be a perfect addition to the DCU.

Can Sylvester Stallone work as Wildcat?

Sylvester Stallone previously worked with James Gunn in his Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Vol. 3, and The Suicide Squad. The ardent fans of the filmmaker are well-versed in his practice of working with his close associates repeatedly. This can enable the director to approach Stallone with Ted Grant aka Wildcat.

Similar to one of the most critically acclaimed franchises of Stallone Rocky, Ted Grant is also a world-class boxer. It cannot be denied that the star can be a very good Ted Grant with his prior experience both as an actor and a filmmaker in the Rocky Balboa series. Although the fans enjoyed King Shark, spotting Sylvester Stallone in live-action DCU would surely drive the audience crazy.

Ted Grant aka Wildcat has already made his live-action debut with Stephen Amell’s Arrow. In the Arrowverse, he was portrayed by J.R. Ramirez. Another version of the Justice Society of America member has been spotted in the Stargirl series. Similar to other JSA heroes, he was also a mentor to young superheroes and has trained some big names like Batman and Black Canary.

How can Wildcat appear in the DCU?

Sylvester Stallone can make a very good Ted Grant if it is seriously considered by James Gunn. Presently, it does not seem like there is any big franchise for the Rambo actor to look after. This can enable the actor to move into the DCU with ease.

Moreover, the other Justice Society of America members, Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific are already slated to appear in the upcoming Superman: Legacy. It can also pave the way for Sylvester Stallone’s superhero to appear in the forthcoming superhero universe. Stallone’s acting in Samaritan also proves that he can be the perfect choice to play a veteran superhero.

The upcoming DCU would still take some time to come to fruition. James Gunn has recently announced (via CBR) that we will not get any teaser or trailer for the film anytime soon in 2024. Although the filming is slated to start soon, we have to wait for further details.

Superman: Legacy will be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
