An exciting update has been revealed concerning the future of Tulsa King on Paramount+. While the series hasn’t been officially renewed just yet, the odds are looking good that the show may be moving forward with not just one, but two more seasons.
Per Deadline, Tulsa King star and executive producer Sylvester Stallone is in the midst of finalizing a new deal to continue his work with the show. The deal is set to bring back Stallone for two additional seasons of Tulsa King, putting the show on track for a two-season renewal. Reportedly, Stallone’s deal will see him getting another raise, putting him up from the $1.5 million per episode he’d earned for Season 2 (which was also up from Season 1’s $750,000 per episode). With this noted, there’s still time for these plans to fall through as the renewal hasn’t been formally greenlit just yet.
This update comes days after Season 2 wrapped up on Nov. 17. The season was a big success, seeing an increase in viewership by about 8% compared to Season 1. It pulled 2 million views worldwide on its premiere day and was averaging views in more than 10 million global households over 35 days. If the two-season renewal goes through, the show could also reportedly be given multiple spinoffs, comparable to Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe.
Tulsa King May Soon Be Renewed for Two More Seasons
Created by Sheridan, Tulsa King debuted its first season in 2022. It picked up after the release of Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) from prison in New York, at which point he relocates to Tulsa, Oklahoma and sets up a new criminal organization. The series also stars Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, and Frank Grillo.
“I’m really excited about how this season plays out,” writer Terence Winter told CBR about Season 2. “I think there are a lot of twists and turns, a lot of surprising developments — not just in action, but emotionally. You’re going to start to learn more about our characters as the season progresses, and also feel a lot more for these characters who you’ve gotten to know through Season 1. I’m really excited to see how it how it lands with the audience, the more they get to know who these people are that they’ve been rooting for. It’s all about character, and we’ve got some great ones.”
In a separate interview with THR, Winter also previously said about possible spinoffs, “There’s been some talk of that. That’s in the talking stages… I’m just looking forward to getting those beignets in New Orleans.”
