The Curse Of Oak Island’s Marty Lagina Loves Hearing This From Fans

It’s fair to say that fans of “The Curse of Oak Island” have levied their fair share of criticism towards the series over the years — and not without good reason. The search for the mysterious treasure of Oak Island has been going on for well over 200 years at this point, and through all of that time nobody has even come close to uncovering where that treasure might be, or if it even exists at all.

As such, the constant dead ends and loose threads that appear in “The Curse of Oak Island” are a perpetual source of disappointment — and many fans have chosen to vent their frustration directly towards series leads Rick and Marty Lagina. Fans have been very vocal in their criticism of how the brothers conduct their search, and some have even questioned whether or not the whole “quest” is just one big hoax that the two are keeping alive for the show’s profit (though given Marty’s background, it wouldn’t seem he’s hurting for cash).

Still, while there are plenty of disparaging comments floating around the fanbase, there is one thing that Marty Lagina says he absolutely loves to hear from his fans.

Marty loves hearing from parents that watch the show with their kids

In a recent interview with Reality Blurred, Marty Lagina asserted that his favorite thing he hears from fans is that they enjoy watching the show with their kids. “The nicest part is that we’ve had lots of input from maybe a mother or a father who says, ‘It’s the only show that we can watch with our kids. It’s the only show that the kids and we are interested in,'” he explained. “And that’s great, because there’s just not enough of that.”

The brothers also spoke about how gratifying it is to know just how many people have “bought into” the island’s mystery because of them — especially those who come to the island as tourists alongside their family. It appears that Marty has a silver lining that he can look for whenever the criticism gets too much to bear — and perhaps he has the right of it after all. Whether or not the fans are criticizing the show or praising it, at the end of the day, it’s clear that those people are all heavily invested in this quest for the treasure of Oak Island.
