The Goonies has a unique crossover with the infamous Sylvester Stallone movie Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot in new art reimagining the latter’s poster.
The Goonies crosses over with Sylvester Stallone’s Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot in new artwork. The Goonies was originally released in 1985 and is considered one of the most beloved coming-of-age films of the 1980s. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is a 1992 action-comedy about a police sergeant who finds himself in a pickle when his overbearing mother comes to visit and begins to get in the way of his career. The movie stars Stallone and Estelle Getty as the leads.
Now, new art by Chris Stiles shows a crossover between The Goonies and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. The artwork is an edited version of the latter’s poster. Replacing Joe Bomowski and his mother Tutti are Sloth and his mother from The Goonies.

Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot’s Reception Explained
Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot was released during an odd era of Stallone’s career. He had already done the Rocky movies years earlier, but the star was back to some of the goofy action projects that typified his early career. Titles in the ‘90s for him included Cop Land, Cliffhanger, and The Specialist, none of which had the same widespread appeal as the Rocky or even Rambo movies did.
Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot was not an outlier in this dud era in Stallone’s career. The movie holds a 14% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes with only a slightly higher 21% among audiences. At the box office, the movie did not do much better. The action movie made a paltry total of $28 million, a lackluster sum even for 1992.
Thus, there is something additionally funny about this particular Stallone movie being mashed up with The Goonies. Not only would Sloth and his mom be a funny combo for a redo of the movie, but The Goonies was such a well-regarded film by comparison. A mash-up like this will never come to fruition on the big screen, but it is fun to imagine such an iconic movie paired with a big flop like Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.
