Clint Eastwood’s partner Christina Sandera passed away at age 61.
Veteran filmmaker and actor Clint Eastwood mourns the death of his beloved partner Christina Sandera after she passed away at age 61. The 94-year-old director has been in a relationship with her for ten years. The cause of death was not revealed.
Eastwood had several high-profile relationships in the past, although he was only married twice – to model Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1987 and news reporter Dina Ruiz from 1996 to 2004. Sandera worked as a hostess in one of Eastwood’s properties.
Who Is Clint Eastwood’s Late Partner Christina Sandera?
Clint Eastwood confirmed the news of Christina Sandera’s death to BBC, saying: “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and an important part of my life.” He said he will “miss her very much.”
The pair reportedly first met when Sandera worked at the Mission Ranch Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Eastwood bought the property in 1986 and transformed it into a luxurious hotel. They reportedly started dating in 2014.
Unlike the director’s previous partners, Sandera was not a celebrity and she kept a low profile. They lived a quiet life in the small coastal town of California. In 2015, Eastwood attended the Oscars after his film American Sniper was nominated for six accolades. He brought his partner then, and they made their first red carpet debut as a couple. Sandera continued to support and accompany the filmmaker in many events.
As fans already know, Eastwood has many kids from his previous marriages. He has eight grown-up children, one of them is actor Scott Eastwood. They maintain close family ties despite not growing up under one roof, and they welcomed Sandera with open arms.
In this trying time, the director must be finding solace in the comfort of his family. Losing his loved one, the woman who brought happiness into his life after his drama-filled past romances, can be the worst feeling of all.
Clint Eastwood Doesn’t Show Signs Of Slowing Down
For a director who is already in his 90s, Eastwood still won’t retire for good. He continues to make movies as much as he can. In his interview with the Los Angeles Times, he nonchalantly said:
I don’t look like I did at 20, so what? That just means there are more interesting guys you can play.
Eastwood started his directing career quite later than many of his colleagues, but this did not bother him. In fact, he told AP News: “You have more experience as you get older… You can be 21 or 81. If you tell yourself, ‘I’m too old to do that’ — bulls—t. You’re not too old to do anything.”
He worked as an actor before he became a filmmaker, a feat that he revealed he does not miss dearly. Eastwood admitted it was difficult to sell himself as an actor because “the odds were against me for quite a few years.” He said that when he casts actors for his movies, he always chooses the “off-types” because he’s been there and knows how it feels.
