Connor Cruise is sharing a rare look into his personal life.

Though he typically keeps his private life under wraps and doesn’t often post on social media, on Saturday, Aug. 17, the son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman shared two photos on his Instagram Stories, showing him spending time with friends.

The first snap saw Connor, 29, posing next to a friend on a pavement walkway with a rocky beach and sunset behind them. He wore a black t-shirt, black cap, white shorts and gray sneakers and gave the camera a thumbs-up, while his other hand rested on his friend’s shoulder.

“Happy birthday,” Connor wrote in the caption, adding a tag for his pal.

Next, he shared a photo that showed him on a boat with a group of friends on what appeared to be a fishing trip. Connor sat at the center of the group of four men, holding up an enormous fish as the group all smiled. For the outing, the keen fisherman wore a print hooded top, gray shorts and kept sun-safe with a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.

The snap appeared to be another chance for him to celebrate the birthday of a friend, as he wrote “Happy birthday buddy!!,” over the photo, tagging a fishing friend.

Connor was adopted by Tom, 62, and Kidman, 57, shortly after his birth in 1995, a few years after they had adopted their daughter Isabella Jane. He also has several half-siblings with Kidman welcoming daughters Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13 with now-husband Keith Urban and Tom sharing daughter Suri, 18, with his ex Katie Holmes.

Despite leading a relatively private life now, Connor grew up in Los Angeles and has worked in the entertainment industry in previous years. He acted alongside Will Smith in the 2008 drama Seven Pounds, starred in the 2012 action film Red Dawn and released music in 2013.

Connor is also a passionate fisherman, with much of his Instagram account dedicated to the activity, though he hasn’t posted a photo on his grid since April, 2023.

“We used to go fishing a lot when I was a little kid,” he told PEOPLE in 2016. “I was blessed to travel the world as a young kid and now I’m traveling the world working.”

More recently, Connor was spotted hanging out with his father in late June in London. They were seen exiting a helicopter while wearing casual attire. Cruise opted for a pair of sunglasses, jeans and an off-white fitted top, while Connor wore a navy baseball cap, a black hoodie, jeans and sneakers.

Two days later, the Top Gun actor attended Coldplay’s Glastonbury Festival set with Gillian Anderson and Simon Pegg, though Connor was not pictured at the music event.

Meanwhile, last year in December 2023, Tom and his eldest children Connor and Isabella were photographed together in an image shared on Instagram by former NFL player Derrick Brooks.
