In an illustrious four-decade-long career, Tom Cruise has scaled unimaginable heights (both literally and figuratively). The Mission :Impossible star has left an indelible mark on Hollywood with the sleuth of blockbusters to his name. As he looks forward to leave his mark in the profession well into the 60s, the roles are still coming in thick for him. And it seems like he is determined to walk with a laurel that will bring him on at the same pedestal as Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tom Cruise wants everyone to know that he isn’t over yet

Many people believed that Tom Cruise is heading towards the twilight of his career. But, he has proved his detractors wrong time and again, with movies like Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning proving to be major successes.

The Knight and Day star has shown no signs of slowing down. Whether it be his hunger for success, or for perfection – they haven’t left him at all. And if rumors about his upcoming project are anything to go by, he is looking to tick one achievement that has eluded him yet with his next.

Tom Cruise looks all set to create history with his upcoming project

Tom Cruise is all geared up for his next film, an untitled project that will be directed by Alejandro G. Iñàrritu, and boasts of a stellar cast of Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and Sophie Wilde. It is anybody’s guess that they’re cooking something memorable.

Insiders have reportedly told In Touch that the movie will revolve around a man who plays a billionaire of the ilk of Elon Musk (he won’t be essaying the role of the Tesla founder though). And Cruise feels that the movie might give him the best chances for bagging a first memorable Oscar win.

The source might have some weight after all. Everyone associated with the movie comes with proven pedigree. Sandra Hüller has already been nominated once for the Academy Awards for her performance in Anatomy of A Fall. Same goes for Jesse Plemons. And Goodman already has an Emmy to his name.

The source said,

“The script is under lock and key, but what’s shocking is the super-stacked cast Tom and his team have assembled, including getting Sandra Hüller in her biggest English-language role to date.” This is a major flex, and it’s shocking because these are the kind of actors who wouldn’t be caught dead in a Mission: Impossible movie and are extremely picky and script-focused when it comes to choosing movies.”

Moreover, what fuels Cruise’s expectations is the character itself. The insider said,

“For once, Tom is playing somebody with more juice than Tom has in his own real life.”

Moreover, many would remenber that Alejandro G. Iñàrritu was the director of The Revenant, a movie which snapped Leonardo DiCaprio’s unlucky run at the Oscars. Maybe the American Made star will be the second actor who might kick off his Oscar count with the Mexican filmmaker.
