On Friday, Oct. 18, New York-based label Enjoy the Ride Records will release expanded editions of Harold Faltermeyer’s music for “Top Gun” and Hans Zimmer’s for “Days of Thunder,” each on double 140 gram LPs. Following their release in 2023 on a limited-edition CD, both albums will feature the complete original cues from their respective films along with demos or alternate takes.
Only one cue from Faltermeyer’s music for “Top Gun” appeared on the soundtrack originally released in 1986. A special expanded edition released in 1999 added one more, the instrumental “Memories.” Listed below is the track list that will appear on the LP:

Zimmer’s music for “Days of Thunder” appeared only once on the original album’s release, beneath the track “Last Note of Freedom” by David Coverdale. The score was released for the first time in 2013, and a 30th anniversary edition was released in 2020.
