The second season of Paramount+’s Tulsa King is coming this fall, and below is the first footage from the new episodes.
Tulsa King season two will premiere Sunday, Sept. 15. The series stars Sylvester Stallone as a former mob boss who builds a new crime empire in Oklahoma. The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and written by Terence Winter, and this season has added director Craig Zisk to the team.
Here’s the short teaser, with Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi declaring, “Tulsa belongs to me now. I don’t answer to any man.”
Tulsa King has had a bumpy road to its second season, with Winter originally stepping down as showrunner after some reported clashes with producer Sheridan. Ultimately, Winter decided to return to the series as the project’s lead writer, with Zisk taking over production-side duties.
The show also had a bit of controversy during filming after extras claimed they were mistreated on set, with Stallone reportedly calling some of them “ugly” and “fat.”
The second season description reads: “Dwight and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.”
The series also stars also Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Vincent Piazza, Tatiana Zappardino, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Frank Grillo, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.
