‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Gets Huge Update From Frank Grillo Ahead Of “Serious” Season 2 Finale

One of the great new additions to Tulsa King this season has undoubtedly been Frank Grillo. His character of Bill Bevilaqua has been the perfect yang to Sylvester Stallone’s ying, and watching the two action legends share the screen together has been a treat for the audience. For Grillo – whose career spans more than three decades – he recently said that acting opposite Stallone is something he can finally check off his bucket list, while at the same time providing fans with a big update on Tulsa King Season 3.

Speaking with Collider ahead of the second season’s grand finale on Paramount+ today, the 59-year-old Grillo spoke about how Stallone, 78, influenced him to become an actor. He commented that finally getting the chance to work with one of his heroes has been a dream come true.

“Sly has been on my bucket list. He was an influence on me becoming an actor, and then we became pals before Tulsa King. To work with him and to stand across from Stallone and do nine-page scenes and him call me and ask me for my opinion, I’ve come full circle. It’s amazing.”

It was then that Grillo let it slip that he’ll most likely be returning for Tulsa King Season 3, adding, “And it looks like we’re going to go do Season 3.” This is big news for fans who have been awaiting a report on the fate of their beloved crime drama, and while Grillo’s comments have yet to be confirmed by either Stallone of Paramount+, it looks as if things are a go. It’s no surprise, really, especially when you consider how well the series has been received by both fans and critics. Tulsa King currently holds an overall rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 2 sitting at a perfect 100%.

Frank Grillo Teases ‘Tulsa King’ Season 2’s “Serious” Ending

Upon its debut in 2022, Tulsa King was immediately lauded for providing a healthy dose of comedy mixed in with its drama. Stallone’s deadpan delivery as Dwight “The General” Manfredi in your classic fish out of water story couldn’t help but add a bit of humor to the crime series. Throw in the likes of Martin Starr (Lawrence “Bodhi” Geigerman) and Jay Will (Tyson Mitchell), and all the ingredients were there for a show that would not only appeal to longtime Stallone fans, but the casual viewer as well.

Tulsa King Season 2 has stuck to that formula pretty well thus far, but when it comes time for that final showdown between Grillo and Stallone, the head of the Kansas City crime family said, “The show goes from a little comic-y and funny to real serious towards the end.” What that means is anyone’s guess, but if Grillo is already eyeing a Season 3 return, we know for sure that it won’t spell the end of Bevilaqua just yet.

Tune in to Parmount+ today to see how it all shakes out, and catch Grillo next in the action-horror flick Werewolves, which hits theaters everywhere on Dec. 6.
