Michelle Visage has officially launched a revenge mission against the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17 — and Entertainment Weekly went along for the (very wet) ride that left no cast member unscathed.
After the longtime judge plunged into the depths not once, but twice across the first half of season 17, Mama RuPaul’s right-hand woman enlisted EW senior writer Joey Nolfi (that’s me!) to help her return the favor and wash the Main Stage in devilish delight as she welcomed the Badonka Dunk Tank twist back for another round of basement-flooding antics. This time, the Emmy winner puts the queens atop the tank for a round of subjective questions. But, no matter how the cast answered, Visage made sure each queen got seriously soaked.
“For today’s revenge — oop, I mean mini challenge — you’ll each take a seat atop the Badonka Dunk Tank. Joey and I will ask you a series of questions. If you answer correctly, you’ll stay dry. If not, you’ll get dunked!” Visage explains in the clip above. First up is Lydia B Kollins, who, when asked, tells Visage that her favorite color is blue. “Wrong, it’s red,” Visage responds, pulling a lever that drops Lydia into the cool, refreshing waters that are definitely not of the Darienne Lake variety.
“I’m gonna piss in this tank and make these bitches drink it,” Lydia says in a confessional, recalling show boyfriend Kori King’s “piss jar” that was spotted in the Boston queen’s recent social media video.
Later, Jewels Sparkles gets wet for (incorrectly) telling Visage that her favorite body part is a “penis” (it was actually her uvula, per the panelist), while Lexi Love fails to brown-nose her way into avoiding a dunk by noting that Visage is her favorite panelist on the show. Finally, Arrietty — who actually got a second life in the competition after dunking Visage earlier this season — also takes a dive upon failing to clearly reveal her sexual position.
Visage then dunks this very reporter, and points viewers to watch EW’s interview with her (which will be up shortly!).
Of the Badonka Dunk Tank itself, Visage previously told EW that she was excited — yet somewhat nervous — to get wet on the show.
“The first thing I said was, ‘What about my hair?'” Visage said of the thought of being immersed in a giant vat of liquid. “That’s all I thought about. Contrary to popular belief, this is my hair with hair pieces in it, and when you get them wet together, they’re difficult to take out.”
And yet, there was a saving grace for the judge: “I said, ‘If I can wear a different fabulous swimsuit every week, then I’m in!'”
