What To Know About Tulsa King Season 2 Before It Premieres

Tulsa King is making headway for season 2. But what do we know so far about the sophomore season for the Paramount+ drama?

Premiering in November of 2022, Tulsa King got attention as the first scripted series to star Sylvester Stallone. The long-time movie star played Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York mobster who agreed to take the fall for his bosses on a crime. After twenty-five years in prison, Dwight is released, expecting to get back into the game.

Instead, his new bosses send him to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to set up a new operation, which is really a way to get rid of what they see as a long-term embarrassment. At first a true fish out of water, Dwight figures out how he can build the local weed supply business into his own criminal empire.

From there, complications ensue as Dwight discovers his new girlfriend, Stacy Beale, is an ATF agent and has to clash with a local rancher, an Irish motorcycle gang and a mobster with a desire for revenge. Despite that, Dwight is determined to rise to the top.

How did Tulsa King season 1 end?

Season 1’s finale brought several plot threads together. After a flashback showed just what sent Dwight to jail in the first place, biker leader Waltrip ordered Dwight dead. Dwight told his New York buddies to head home and never come to “his” city again.

Dwight got his hacker to steal Waltrip’s money, setting up a huge fight where Dwight killed Waltrip personally. Three months later, things were looking up as Dwight got his casino opened, and he and his daughter Tina reconciled.

Stacy had been briefly suspended but was back on the job and met with Dwight. But in a stunning twist, Stacy used a flash drive to frame Dwight for attempting to bribe a federal officer and the year ended with him arrested.

What will season 2 of Tulsa King be about?

Season 2 is likely to pick up showing what’s happened to Dwight with it up in the air if he’ll be in prison again or if he somehow fought the rap. Undoubtedly, he and Stacy are done, and rival Chickie may decide to step into this power vacuum left behind by Dwight. There are also the ranchers involved as Season 2 will expand on the storyline.

Who will star in Tulsa King Season 2?

It’s indicated the majority of the Season 1 cast will be back. Stallone had talked to Variety in 2022 and how tough the show was, hinting that he may only return in a limited capacity. However, it’s hard to see the series run without Dwight at the center, so for now, it sounds like Stallone will be back full-time.

  • Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi
  • Martin Starr as Bodhi
  • Domenick Lombardozzi as Chickie Invernizzi
  • Andrea Savage as Stacy Beale
  • Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci
  • Max Casella as Armand Truisi
  • Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller
  • Jay Will as Tyson Mitchell
  • AC Peterson as Pete Invernizzi
  • Dana Delany as Margaret Deveraux
  • Annabella Sciorra as Joanne Manfredi
  • Ronnie Gene Blevins as Ben Hutchins
  • Michael Beach as Mark Mitchell
  • Tatiana Zappardino as Tina Manfredi-Grieger

When will Tulsa King Season 2 premiere?

The show has been delayed thanks to the strikes hitting Hollywood in 2023. It’s expected to return in 2024, but there is no word on when production begins. Terrance Winter did step down as showrunner, although he remains executive producer.

With the strikes settled, work is expected to begin on Season 2, but there is still no definite shooting date. That might mean it could be until 2025 when the series finally hits Paramount+. However, the show is expected back to continue Dwight’s story and make this cult crime series a bigger deal.
