What is Yellowstone without a side of country music on the side? By this time, everybody knows that creator Taylor Sheridan loves music, and he couldn’t end the beloved neo-western drama without a cameo by one of his favorite bands.

While country music is essential to his series, he often invites his favorite bands to perform for an episode. And with the show about to bid farewell, the penultimate episode also featured another Sheridan-approved band.

Season 5 Episode 13 featured the Oklahoma band the Turnpike Troubadours, who gave a beautiful performance at the big auction held on the ranch.

This was not the first time that Sheridan had a band perform in Season 5, as the season premiere held a memorable performance by the country band Shane Smith & The Saints.

More on Turnpike Troubadours’s performance in Yellowstone in our story.

Who are the Turnpike Troubadours, the band that was featured in the penultimate episode of Yellowstone Season 5?

The penultimate episode of Yellowstone Season 5 featured a special performance by the country band Turnpike Troubadours at the big auction held by Beth, Kayce, and Rip on the ranch.

This was the trio’s effort to raise enough money, which could buy them some time to devise an actual plan to save the Dutton Ranch.

The band featured in this auction is a country band from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and was founded in 2005 by lead singer/guitarist Evan Felker and bassist R.C. Edwards. The other four band members include Kyle Nix, Ryan Engleman, Gabriel Pearson, and Hank Early.

The Spotify bio for Turnpike Troubadours reads as follows,

“At their best, the gritty, country-leaning roots rock band out of eastern Oklahoma, Turnpike Troubadours, synthesize the populist, political folk of Woody Guthrie and the outlaw-styled honky tonk of Waylon Jennings with doses of bluegrass, Cajun, and straight-out rock dynamics.”
With 1,425,182 monthly Spotify listeners, the band has collaborated with other popular artists, toured the world, and had many of their songs featured in Sheridan’s Yellowstone and Landman.
