A Morro Bay man and first-generation farmer is one of several contestants looking for love in the newest season of “Farmer Wants a Wife” on Fox.
Shanley Farm’s Matt Warren is one of the four farmers starring in the third season of the reality dating show, joining men from Missouri, Alabama, and Arkansas as they explore relationships with a group of women who “leave behind the comfort and convenience of city life,” the show advertises.
Warren grew up in Visalia, Fox26 News reported. He didn’t grow up farming, but his brother and sister-in-law needed help on their farm in recent years, Warren said in the season premiere, which aired on March 20.
Shanley Farms operates a 132-acre avocado and exotic fruit farm in Morro Bay and another 70-acre farm in Visalia, according to news release from Fox.

So, what’s Warren looking for in a future wife?
Someone who is driven, smart and fun, he said in a clip from Fox.
