Last week, the popular CBS series Young Sheldon concluded, and the final episode of The Good Doctor airs later tonight (May 21) on ABC. Before we bid farewell to Dr. Shaun Murphy, the season (thankfully not series) finales of Will Trent and The Rookie will also premiere on ABC (and be available for next-day streaming on Hulu).
Based on Karin Slaughter’s New York Times bestselling series, Will Trent has been a ratings hit for ABC, with Season 2 episodes being a top performer for the network across both linear and streaming. The second season finale of the Ramón Rodríguez-led procedural (Season 2, Episode 10: “Do You See the Vision) centers on Will, Faith, and Angie as they, per ABC, find themselves embroiled in a series of cases where a similar marker links the murders of several sex offenders. The synopsis also notes that Angie is grappling with an unexpected proposition from Amanda.
The second season ends tonight, but what about Will Trent Season 3? When exactly does the series return with new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.
What Time Is Will Trent On ABC Tonight?
The second season finale of Will Trent airs tonight (May 21) from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET on ABC. The season finale of The Rookie and series finale of The Good Doctor will air from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on the network.

Will The Will Trent Season 2 Finale Be On Hulu?
Yes! The season finale will be available for next-day streaming on Hulu and ABC.com beginning Tuesday, May 22.
Will There Be A Season 3 Of Will Trent?
Yes! In April 2024, ABC renewed Will Trent for a third season.
When Does Will Trent Return With New Episodes?
It’s a bit of a good news/bad news situation. While Will Trent was renewed for a third season, the series isn’t on ABC’s fall schedule. The network is holding both Will Trent and The Rookie for midseason debuts, allowing the shows to have mostly uninterrupted runs.
“Both of those shows are firing on all cylinders, both in terms of ratings and the performance we see on Hulu,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview. “We’ll launch them in January, when we have huge promotional platforms in New Year’s Rockin Eve, as well as college football and a huge slate of Christmas programming. To have those shows go uninterrupted just felt like the best way to keep growing them, which is our goal.”
Will Trent and The Rookie should return in January 2025, with both shows likely to air 18 episode seasons.
