Yellowstone fans are eagerly awaiting the show’s comeback after season five, part one ended on a major cliffhanger back in January 2023.

As well as the usual pause to build up anticipation, the production was halted over tensions between leading star Kevin Costner and its creator Taylor Sheridan.

The feud which was said to be about contract negotiations and filming schedule changes eventually resulted in confirmation of the show’s conclusion after the upcoming installment.

However, the hiatus was further extended due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes which were lifted after nearly four months, with the promise that filming would resume in the spring of 2024.

Although Costner’s reprisal as John Dutton has yet to be established, fans may also be forced to say a premature goodbye to Kayce Dutton’s Luke Grimes.

Grimes has reportedly turned his back on acting to focus on his impressive music career in country music.

According to Life & Style, an insider close to the star claimed he “isn’t pursuing any other acting gigs at this time.”

During the Yellowstone hiatus, the actor released an EP titled Pain Pills Or Pews accompanied by a self-titled tour across the country.

He also performed at festivals including Under the Big Sky Festival and The Stagecoach Festival which he’s expected to return to this year.

Grimes also revealed that his co-star and singer Lainey Wilson helped him get over the “terrifying” prospect of making his album.

His successful venture into music also led to him signing a recording contract with Nashville’s Universal Music Group.

As a result, his debut his single No Horse to Ride was featured in Yellowstone’s A Knife and No Coin.

The insider added: “Luke’s really looking to hit the road sometime soon,” and mentioned his upcoming headline shows have “been a lifelong dream.”
