In Yellowstone’s penultimate Season 2 episode, things had to improve to get terrible for Kayce and Monica. The hour began with the former planting a bomb on the Beck brothers’ plane with an assist from Dan’s bodyguard. Then, Kayce was dragged into the plot to murder the meth-heads who’d killed Jimmy’s grandpa despite the fact that he’d paid his debt.
Meanwhile, Monica found herself being framed for shoplifting by a racist boutique owner. Big mistake. Monica phoned Beth, who rode to the rescue, trashed the store and left the racist utterly humiliated. (Get a taste of Beth in action below.) Afterwards, Monica’s sister-in-law told her that she was too good for the Yellowstone, and so was Kayce. So “next time you leave, you take [him] with you.”
Finally, by the time Kayce got home from blowing up homicidal meth-heads with Rip, Lloyd, Jimmy and Ryan, he found Monica and John worriedly searching the ranch for Tate. He’d gone out to feed Lucky and had never returned. After a full night of poking around with the hands, John spotted tire tracks, at the end of which… aw, crap. Kayce discovered one of Tate’s lil’ boots.
‘YOU’RE THE DEVIL I KNOW, AND I’M STUCK WITH YOU‘ | In other developments in “Enemies by Monday,” Christina revealed to Jamie that she was expecting their child. In other words, “you have nine months to figure out how to be a father worth having.” Dan asked John to buy him out, but neither could he do that, nor could he let the developer sell to anyone else. And Cowboy, we hardly knew ye; the day worker rode off into the sunset.
