Yellowstone fans are on the edge of their seats for the show’s final chapters, with season 5 part 2 marking the end of the journey.

In this climactic season, a major reshuffle in the cast is brewing.

While Taylor Sheridan is set to expand the Yellowstone world with new spinoffs, this marks the conclusion of the original narrative.

The upside is the return of most of the actors from season 5 part 1 for the final episodes.

However, there’s buzz that a key star from the series might not make an appearance in these last moments.

As Yellowstone heads into its final season, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of familiar faces.

Leading the pack is Luke Grimes, who is likely to reprise his role as Kayce Dutton.

Alongside him, viewers can look forward to seeing Kelsey Asbille back in action as Monica Long Dutton, and Kelly Reilly, expected to dazzle again as Beth Dutton.

The Dutton family drama continues with Wes Bentley, who is anticipated to return as Jamie Dutton.

Adding to the excitement, Cole Hauser is believed to be returning as Rip Wheeler, a character integral to the show’s dynamic.

Unfortunately, Kevin Costner’s future as John Dutton on Yellowstone is uncertain.

There’s speculation that he might be leaving the show, but there’s been no official word from the producers or Paramount Network.

Kevin’s participation in the series came up during his divorce proceedings with Christine Baumgartner.

He shared in his testimony that the decision to leave stemmed from intense negotiations regarding splitting the fifth season into two segments.

Kevin mentioned he had to prioritize his project, Horizon: An American Saga, which led to adjustments in his schedule for the initial part of Yellowstone’s fifth season.

He also noted that scripts for the latter half of season 5 weren’t ready, and they hadn’t even finished filming the first half at that point.

According to multiple reports, a “pay or play” agreement fell through, and he was supposed to receive $12 million for each segment of season 5.

Kevin was open to returning for the final season but noted that he “couldn’t help them anymore. We tried to negotiate, they offered me less money than previous seasons, there were issues with the creative…”

Before deciding to leave Yellowstone, he instructed his representatives to settle on a payment figure, which he believes was around $12 million.

But the show’s team ultimately decided not to meet this amount.
