One of the stars of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone reveals when production on the final six episodes of Season 5 should begin.

Yellowstone star Ian Bohen, who portrays ranch hand Ryan on the Western drama series, recently revealed when filming should resume on the second half of Season 5.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the actor shared what he had heard regarding a new start date for the final six episodes of Yellowstone. “We will go back… rumor has it in May. This summer, and then we should be on in November, roughly. It could be June… we shoot six episodes,” he said, revealing that the show could be back on the air by “November, maybe December, and then we go through the holidays and maybe season finale… series finale maybe on Super Bowl [day].” He continued, “It’s like going to college and grad school with the same people for six or eight years, and you’re like, ‘We have to go? Then what are we gonna do next?’ It feels empty and weird, so I’m gonna try to wring out every second of it.”

Bohen’s comments come several months after one of Yellowstone’s leads, Luke Grimes, shared in July 2023 that production would have already resumed had it not been for the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. “I think we would be if it weren’t for that,” she shared. “But that takes precedence over everything. They got to get that all sorted, and then we’ll be getting after it.” Yellowstone Season 5B was originally supposed to air on Paramount Network in Summer 2023 but was indefinitely delayed due to scheduling conflicts with series lead Kevin Costner.

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Will Be Worth the Wait

Although it’s been over a year since fans last saw the Dutton family on their television screens, Bohen, who refused to get into the Costner drama of it all, promised that the wait would be worth it. “People come and go and there’s all kinds of stories that you may read about and hear, but this story of what this show is about is the most important,” he said. “We’re all components, and we all become madly in love with each other as actors and as people, so we’ll finish that out in this beautiful glide to land. It’ll be great, so we just want to take advantage of the time more than anything.” The actor added, “[Series creator] Taylor [Sheridan] is going to be delivering to the audience, so it’ll be worth the wait, so we thank everybody for waiting.”

Matthew McConaughey May Lead Yellowstone Sequel Series

With Yellowstone set to end with its fifth season, Sheridan has begun developing a sequel series, tentatively titled 2024, to continue the present-day story of the Dutton family. Matthew McConaughey has been approached to headline this new series, although the Oscar-winning actor reportedly wouldn’t join the show until he sees some finished scripts. Michelle Pfeiffer has also been in talks to play the show’s female lead. While no other actors have been announced, the plan is for most of the Yellowstone cast to continue as their characters in the sequel series.

Yellowstone is currently streaming on Peacock, while a premiere date for Season 5 Part 2 has not yet been set by Paramount Network.
