Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton in the series, has confirmed reports that a sixth season of the series is being discussed.
The news of the show continuing first came from Cole Hauser, who said: “I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself, and some of the other cast.”
The series could very well put more of a focus on Beth and Rip. Reilly recently talked about the series potentially continuing with EW, saying: “There’s potentially another chapter. It’s being talked about now.”
She went on to elaborate on that, and how if it happens, it’s going to be a little different. She explained: “Nothing is set in stone. But if Taylor wants to write it, I would want to do it. That’s it. Because he’s the one that’s written every single line I’ve ever said. She came from his imagination.
“But we’re both in agreement that there’s a shift that has to take place. Because you can’t keep telling the same story. This story is ending. Yellowstone as we know it is ending, but if there is more story to tell with some of the characters, it’s going to be a little different.”
I do hope that we get to see the stories of these characters continue. It sucks that things didn’t work out with Costner and the original plan for Yellowstone had to be changed, but I’m still excited and curious to see where the story goes.
As Sheridan is working on closing out Yellowstone Season 5, he is also developing the spinoff series The Madison with Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox, Patrick J. Adams (Suits), and more.
The series is said to “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash.”
The Madison is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
