She’s one of the biggest celebrity fans of the hit Western crime series Yellowstone.

And Jennifer Lopez had a major geek out moment on Friday evening when she got to hang out with the show’s since-departed star, Kevin Costner.

The 55-year-old singer and actress and the 69-year-old actor and filmmaker were spotted enjoying drinks at the bar at the iconic western apparel store Kemo Sabe in Aspen, Colorado.

Jennifer was spotted earlier in the evening as she and her child Emme, 16, went shopping while dressed in their most stylish western-wear looks.

She had been spotted in the celebrity destination city days earlier as she geared up to celebrate Christmas there with her close friends and family, including her mother Guadalupe and sister Lynda Lopez.

Getting to spend time the star of one of her favorite shows was likely a treat for Jennifer, but her adoration for the critically dismissed series was reported to have ‘disturbed’ her estranged husband Ben Affleck during their marriage.

Jennifer looked effortlessly chic in a thick black turtleneck with cheerful wintry knit designs with reindeers and snowflakes.

She stuck to the Western theme with a black cowboy hat placed over her top knot.

She added a splash of color to the muted look with a shaft of turquoise decorated her silver lattice hatband, as well as a black feather that fluttered in the breeze.

Jennifer showed off some sparkle with a pair of diamond-encrusted Chanel earrings in the shape of the fashion house’s double-C logo.

She was also joined by her child Emme, who uses gender-neutral they/them pronouns.

They complemented their mother in a black cowboy hat, along with a long black leather shirt jacket, charcoal jeans and black boots.

Emme appeared to be joined by a friend, but their fraternal twin brother Max was spotted with the entourage.

Jennifer appeared to have removed her big sweater in favor of a slimmer black mock turtleneck while she was in the store.

She could be seen up in the store’s bar as she chatted with friends and Emme.

Kevin was spotted chatting with her party, but it wasn’t clear how much time he spent with them or if the two got much of a chance to chat.

The Dances With Wolves star and director looked suave with his thick salt-and-pepper mustache and soul patch, a look he has ben sporting since appearing in his flop Western Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1.

The film, the first in a proposed quarter of movies, received mixed reviews from critics and was largely ignored by viewers in theaters, despite Kevin’s army of Yellowstone fans.

The films reportedly contributed to his poor relationship with Yellowstone co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, as Kevin was reportedly distressed about rampant delays on the show due to a lack of scripts from Sheridan, and he had also requested a smaller commitment in season five in order to shoot his Horizon films.

Costner looked as if he was staying toasty indoors thanks to his brown scar and black jacket.

Jennifer’s love for Kevin’s series Yellowstone was ‘disturbing’ to her ex Ben Affleck, though he explained that was because of the show’s cast.

While chatting on The Bill Simmons Podcast with his best friend Matt Damon in March 2023, Affleck revealed that Jennifer was particularly ‘drawn to the romance between Rip Wheeler (played by Cole Hauser) and Costner’s on-screen daughter Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly).

‘Jen showed me a clip off of Instagram of a monologue [Reilly] has in the car with the kid about the ways to become rich,’ Ben recalled. ‘And then [Jen] was like, “I love this story of these two.”

‘I was like, “Wait a minute — with Cole Hauser? What do you love about it?”‘ he continued. ‘I’m kind of disturbed by the fact that my wife really likes Yellowstone.’

Matt went on to explain that Hauser had been an old acting buddy to him and Ben when they were first getting their start in the industry.

The trio were featured in School Ties (1992), and Hauser was featured in Gus Van Sant’s 1997 classic Good Will Hunting, which Matt and Ben starred in and co-wrote. The film later earned them an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Matt said he ‘was always mystified that Cole wasn’t a giant movie star.

‘When we worked with him, he was 16, I’ll never forget,’ Damon recalled. ‘We were driving back into Boston … leaving set for the first week, driving into Cambridge, and we’re like … “Leaving me and you out, who’s the f***in’ best actor here?” And both of us, at the same time, were like, “Hauser.”‘

He added that the future Yellowstone star was ‘astonishing’ and full of ‘raw talent’ and ‘just the sweetest soul.’

‘He was raw talent; just astonishing … and just the sweetest soul,’ the Bourne Identity star continued.

Ben added that Cole was ‘very convincing’ on Yellowstone. ‘I think America believes he is Rip.’

Costner left Yellowstone before the release of the second half of its fifth and final season, reportedly due to issues with Sheridan and pay disagreements.

His character, patriarch John Dutton, was killed off in the premiere of season 5B, and the show wrapped up its run with a series finale earlier this month that was excoriated by critics.

Jennifer and Ben, who dated and were engaged from 2002 to 2004, reunited in the spring of 2021.

They got married in the summer of 2022, first in Vegas and then with a larger ceremony at Ben’s Georgia estate, but they were dogged by rumors of trouble in paradise throughout 2023 and 2024, and Jennifer filed for divorce on August 20, the date of their second wedding anniversary.

Kevin had his own heartbreak in recent years after his wife Christin Baumgartner filed for divorce in May of 2023.

Their tumultuous divorce, which saw them bickering over assets and a prenuptial agreement, was finalized in February of this year.
