And by that, we mean, Willow Corinthos told her to go anywhere that wasn’t around her EVER AGAIN.

The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, January 17, 2024, features Willow taking Nina’s knife out of her back and stabbing her mother right in the heart…figuratively, of course.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Carly learned the truth about her son’s lies, while Tracy sang Michael’s praises. Finn got an interesting bit of information from Dr. Sawyer. And, finally, Spencer blackmailed Esme out of running to the cops about Ace. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

It’s Over, Mother!

What Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) wanted was a calm day at work. What she got was a call from Michael (Chad Duell) asking to talk. Nope. She wasn’t about that life. Not today. She was forced to talk to Nina, though, who showed up at the Nurses’ station.

Willow outright told Nina (Cynthia Watros) she didn’t want anything to do with her, but in true Nina fashion, she pushed and pushed until she got what she wanted. She didn’t get it long, though, before Carly (Laura Wright) came around the corner and screamed at her to leave Willow alone.

This led to several things happening. Carly and Nina faced off and the not-so-secret truth about Michael knowing everything came out. Carly was sure Nina was lying through her teeth but she and Drew (Cameron Mathison) stormed off to confront him, anyway.

Once alone, Willow and Nina went to a room to have it out. Nina rattled off her list of excuses and reasons but Willow was having none of it. She point-blank told Nina they were over. She had no intention of ever speaking to her again.

As for Michael, he was at the Quartermaine mansion asking Ned (Wally Kurth) for his shares back. He got ribbed by Tracy (Jane Elliot) about being a TRUE Quartermaine now. Eventually, Ned agreed to give Michael what he wanted — tomorrow.

Unfortunately, during this little showdown, Michael was caught rehashing the details of his blackmail scheme by Carly and Drew. To say they weren’t happy was an understatement. Much like Nina, Michael rattled off his own list of excuses and reasons. None of which landed well. A furious Drew left and Carly geared up to have it out with her kid in private.

Ned and Tracy hid out in the kitchen. Tracy was pleased as punch by this messy mess and talked about how they could use it to their advantage.

Brother Knows Best

Meanwhile, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) pushed her way into Laura’s apartment and demanded her son. Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) tried to stall and delay her but there was only so much waiting he could do before dropping his bomb. Ace was not there. He would never be with Esme again. The baby was with his father!

He took great pleasure in telling Esme all about Nikolas (Adam Huss) turning up and taking off into the night with the baby. Nik may not be a great dad. Heck, Nik may not be a great person. But, Ace was much safer with him than with the likes of Ryan Chamberlain’s daughter.

Esme lost it the way any mother would and tore into Spencer. How dare he?! Spencer stood his ground, though. And, when Esme threatened to call the cops and report this horrendous kidnapping, Spencer threatened to tell them she had her memory back. Tread wisely. Defeated, Esme slinked away.

The Truth About Muldoon

Back at the hospital, Finn (Michael Easton) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) had a meeting with Dr. Sawyer. At first, it was not going well. She was not about to break HIPAA and discuss her past patient or his medical history…unless it was on a witness stand. She told Finn to have his lawyer contact her.

Liz wasn’t about to let her leave that easily, though. She begged her to sit and stay and sang Finn’s praises. She and Finn proposed she at least speak in hypotheticals. Dr. Sawyer agreed and they got started.

As it turned out, Mr. Muldoon already knew he had cancer because Dr. Sawyer tested him for it. However, he didn’t follow up with the oncologist and it seemed he didn’t tell anyone else, including his family. Finn felt hopeful for the first time in weeks.
