Two Tulsa King recurring cast members will see their roles expanded for season 2 of Sylvester Stallone’s crime show with an upgraded status.

Tulsa King season 2 has bumped up two cast members from recurring to series regulars. The show, which debuted in 2022, stars Sylvester Stallone in his debut leading role in a scripted TV show, and centers on mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who sets up a criminal enterprise in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following his release from prison following 25 years. The series received mixed reviews from critics, but it became a big hit for streaming platform Paramount+, and Tulsa King season 1’s cliffhanger ending has set the show up well for a new season.

According to reports from Deadline, two recurring cast members will become series regulars for Tulsa King season 2. Annabella Sciorra and Tatiana Zappardino, who play Joanne Manfredi (Dwight’s sister), and Tina Manfredi-Gieger (Dwight’s estranged daughter) respectively, will see their roles expanded for season 2 of the Taylor Sheridan show. They will join the show’s ensemble cast; check out this list of some of the Tulsa King cast members who would be expected to return for season 2, alongside Sciorra and Zappardino.

What Could Happen In Tulsa King Season 2?

Series creator Sheridan is known for his hands-on approach, and will no doubt have a vision he wants to stick to very closely. But, this has already led to tensions with one showrunner, and Stallone himself even admitted to reservations about returning for season 2, following the intense workload of season 1.

The first season of Tulsa King was a big hit for Paramount+, but it wasn’t without its problems, as showrunner Terence Winter stepped down from his role following creative differences, but has since been rehired in a different role. Despite this, there are a lot of creative directions that season 2 could go, as Dwight and his crew scored some big wins against rivals Chickie and Caolan Waltrip, but also took some losses, with Dwight finding himself in ATF/FBI custody. There are many questions that Tulsa King season 2 could answer, and the show has multiple directions in which it could move.

Series creator Sheridan is known for his hands-on approach, and will no doubt have a vision he wants to stick to very closely. But, this has already led to tensions with one showrunner, and Stallone himself even admitted to reservations about returning for season 2, following the intense workload of season 1. If these issues can be ironed out, and Sheridan can commit to his plan for the series long-term, there is no reason Tulsa King season 2 cannot match, or even surpass, the success of season 1.

Tulsa King’s success could see it run for several seasons, and might even open up more TV projects for Stallone in the future. If the Rocky star can acclimate to the arduous schedule of scripted television, and even turn his hand to writing and directing on the small screen, Tulsa King could become a huge hit for the network. For now, anticipation for season 2 is high.
