‘Yellowstone’ Star Cole Hauser Shares His Surprising Morning Routine

Between starring as Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone and being an entrepreneur with a successful coffee brand, it’s hard to believe Cole Hauser has time for anything other than work. But amid his busy schedule, he’s finding ways to cherish the quiet moments… and give back to others.

While waiting for Yellowstone to resume filming the final episodes of the series, the actor has started a “Get Up and Get It” campaign with his Free Rein coffee company. As part of the initiative, leading up to National Get Up Day on February 1, the brand is giving folks who spend $50 or more on the brand’s website a free bag of coffee, with hopes that they will pay it forward to a deserving someone in their hometown.

“Giving back, especially to those who serve our country and communities, is so important to my family and I,” he exclusively tells Good Housekeeping. “It’s a big reason why we started Free Rein. There are many great organizations that I also support — like Tunnels to Towers and the Wounded Warrior Foundation — who support veterans. This is important work… it’s truly the least we can do for those who selflessly gave their lives for our country.”

With the initiative, the Dazed and Confused alum is also encouraging fans to create a solid morning routine of their own. For Cole, it’s all about finding some time to cherish the little things in life.

Cole tells us that every morning, he enjoys waking up early. After that, he spends time with his wife, Cynthia Daniel, while his younger son, Colt, and daughter, Steely Rose, get ready for school (the couple’s oldest son Ryland is currently a freshman in college).

“Whether on set or not, I am always an early riser,” Cole says. “I always kick off my days with a cup of American Dirt and a walk with my dog, Mud. Cynthia makes me my first cup — a pour over of American Dirt. That’ll really get you going.” Cole even revealed he and Cynthia have “coffee dates,” although, she prefers the Branded blend.

But truly, regardless of the time of day, Cole says nothing beats being with his family.

“When not on set, I like to spend as much time as I can with my wife and kids,” he says. “Think backyard BBQing and high school football games. I’m a very proud dad.”

Of course, we couldn’t speak to Rip himself without asking about Yellowstone. While he wouldn’t give too much away about what fans can expect from season 5 part 2, Cole did tease that will be one to remember.
